The Gryffindorks and The Copyrights

The Gryffindorks are made up of some of the youngest improvisers in the "biz," happily claims the title, "Oldest Improv Team in Albuquerue." Their original long-form improv is magical! As for The Copyrights, these short-form youngsters play improv games in the style of "Whose Line is it Anyways?"

No Holds Bard

The forgotten Shakespearean Texts performed for audiences live as they were intended. Does anyone remember reading about Shakespeare's plays that didn't take place between Kings and Queens but between office managers and copy machine repairmen? We have unearthed those texts and will be performing them for you.

The One Night Stanleys

The Return of the Stanleys begin this weekend.

The One Night Stanleys will astonish you with their lightning-fast improvisational comedy. Working with audience input, The One Night Stanleys create a hilarious, original long-form improv performance. Believe me, when you wake up in the morning, you wont regret having spent the night with the members of The One Night Stanleys: Joe Carney, Alex Knight, and Steve Lucero.

Thoroughly Modern Millie is a high-spirited musical romp that has all of New York dancing the Charleston. It’s the zany new 1920’s musical that has taken Broadway by storm! Taking place in New York City in 1922, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Based on the popular movie, the stage version of Thoroughly Modern Millie includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers.

The Box has picked up roots and is now downtown. Our new address will is 100 Gold Lofts. The new space is beautiful! We now have a larger lobby with mucho restrooms. The actors have a new greenroom and a backstage area. The stage is a little larger and we will be adding about 15 seats. We will remain the small intimate space, with that cool vibe, that you have all come to expect and love. But now, we will be steps away from your favorite hang-outs and restaurants.

Since its inception more then two years ago, the Box has been home to Cardboard Playhouse Productions, offering exceptional children's shows and some of the best comedy and original works in Albuquerque, as well as becoming the premier place in Albuquerque to see improv. Now, we are thrilled and honored to welcome Blackout Theatre Company as the new Company in Residence. Blackout Theatre Company was founded in 2007 with a primary goal of creating new and original works, as well as pushing the boundaries of published works. Blackout also seeks to foster an environment of artistic exploration in the community at large via outreach and collaborative efforts. With the addition of Blackout's young and talented ensemble, the Box will enter a new phase in our development, presenting Blackout's exciting and dynamic live performances as well as continuing to stage our popular children's theater and improv.
